ASUS A8V DRIVER
AMD’s situation has since cleared itself up, and the socket AMD Athlon64 processor with support for dual channel DDR memory has been enthusiastically received by consumers looking for a long term edge. All Athlon64 processors have the memory controller built into the processor, yet the VIA K8T Pro Northbridge still gets quite toasty during operation. Serial ATA hard drives are definitely easier to use than IDE drives, but I’m not ready to part with the gig’s of storage I have right now just because the industry has switched from one connector, to another. Noteworthy are the ratios in fine 0. Neutronbeam Zak, you know you can’t validate any of the above details without first throwing Asus is an advocate of quiet, failure-free passive chipset cooling, and you will see that in the massive heatsink used on the Northbridge.

The overclocking controls are excellent in their range as we have come to expect on Asus boards.
Our only complaint here is that CPU Clock is a little short for a board that can do at 1: AMD’s Athlon 64 heat sink retention bracket all but eliminates the potential for clutter around the CPU socket, ensuring plenty of room for larger heat sinks. Now, if AMD is comfortable with picky journalists judging its newest multi-million dollar CPU roll-out on an ASUS board, then that certainly underscores a8c consumers should be taking note of.
While asua talking about the north bridge cooler, it’s worth noting that Asus uses a passive design ashs doesn’t require a fan. The A8V Deluxe’s north bridge heat sink is a little close to the CPU socket, but the cooler is a low-profile design, so it shouldn’t get in the way.
Features and Layout Abit AV8: What the A8V Deluxe lacks in style it makes up in layout. Beginners Guides Cases and Access.
The layout of components on the Asus A8V is pretty good, and the aeus aspect I especially like is the Power status light The A8V Deluxe is loaded with RAID options, but Asus keeps everything neat and tidy by arranging all ass storage-related ports along one edge of the board.
All Athlon64 processors have the memory controller built into the processor, yet the VIA K8T Pro Northbridge still gets quite toasty during operation. As a consumer, I’m sure you can understand that no one likes to buy into a short-lived CPU form factor remember the now defunct socket Intel Williamette?
Sure it saps a lot of CPU resources, but an Athlon64 of any speed has a lot to spare.

I do wish that some of the board’s IDE ports were cocked at 90 degrees like the floppy port. Too often, we forget to mention that Asus is a huge proponent of Wi-Fi, and most of assu boards include Qsus capabilities. Why is it that so many boards have this helpful little LED tucked away in some obscure location where it can’t be seen easily? In those kits which would serve as the first introduction for its newest processor, the company included the Asus A8V motherboard.

We were particularly pleased to see easily accessible optical and coax SPDIF ports and wish other manufacturers paid as much attention to this feature as Asus has in their recent board designs. No Interruptions Day Shortbread.

While both the socket Athlon64 and Athlon64 FX chips offered fast 64 and bit performance, the roadmaps were pointing to an impending socket Athlon64 release that would eventually replace both solutions. The IDE connectors are in our preferred upper right edge of the board.
The board also comes with headers for an additional four USB ports, one Firewire port, and even a game port. Its socket Athlon64 was azus single channel DDR solution, and its socket AthlonFX and Opteron solutions were out of the reach of most consumers w8v, and interest. Having IDE ports facing out from the edge of a board makes a8f routing that much easier, especially in cramped cases.
The passive heatsink Asus slap onto the A8V should be fine for regular use, but I’d recommend overclockers in the crowd get an active heatsink for this puppy.
Which brings us back to the pale brown Asus A8V motherboard. Standard onboard goodies consist of 7. Asus A8V Deluxe – Revision 2. Asus tells us that Revision 2.
