The time now is Using the Nvidia controller with the bios raid parameters set as per the manual press f10 after post and the drives are recognised and can be configured as raid 0. I have experimented with both controllers using the NvRaid controller at the moment. If I disable raid in bios, put a single disk on either controller then windows will install on that disk with no problems.

Start WinXP pro setup from cd, at prompt load both Nvidia raid drivers [leave floppy in]setup carries on – recognises the drive – formats – then at windows install it stops with ‘cannot load file nvraid. With raid-0 you store data across all the drives in the array.
I tried putting the Nvidia drivers on a cd but it wont touch them, keeps on trying to access the floppy. K8N-E raid setup I have now given up on the SI raid controller because no matter how I set the parameters for it windows keeps telling me there are no rad drives in the computer.

Raid0 will wipe out all your data as you will need to change how the drives data is stored. Raid-1 raif you to mirror the data on two drives. Arid would not think it should affect things never know though. Don’t know if that detection problem is only in bios at boot up, though it might be intermitent, since the question says “sometimes”.
Are the bios raid settings for the 2 controllers on pages and correct.
As far as 1 goes I have to agree with him as I spent 5 days trying to do it with no success, the drivers should be loaded through an os is what he said. Raid 1 you will be able to save the data on 1 dfrive.
